Where You Can Search

You can use the search to find processes and process elements independently of the process hierarchy.

The search field Search in ‘<name of the Process Space>’ is generally available on the Bpanda pages, usually in the header area of the application.

How the Search Works

The search function with auto-complete suggests matching search terms as you type, which you can select with a single click.

The search takes into account the names and the descriptions in the Process Space. It is always based on the beginning of a word.

Your search results are displayed in the Processes, Attachments and Organizational Units tabs.

If your role also allows you to see versions that are no longer valid or not yet valid, you can extend the search results to All Revisions.

How to Search for Processes

The search finds all visible process versions in the Process Space that contain a name or a description matching the beginning of the word you entered.

There are published process versions that are visible to you.

Context

The search helps you quickly find the processes you are interested in, independently of the process hierarchy. The search suggests matching search terms from the Process Space index as you type, which you can select with a single click. When a process is imported, the names and descriptions of process elements are added to the index.

The search field is offered at the top of the Home page and in the header area at the top of all other pages.

You can narrow down the search results using filters if necessary.

• If the processes in the result set have lanes, the results can be narrowed down to specific lanes.
• If you are also allowed to see versions that are no longer valid or not yet valid, you can narrow down the search results to the valid versions.

How to Proceed

1. Click in the search field Search in ‘<name of the Process Space>’.

   The Delete icon appears on the right.

2. Enter the beginning of the term you are looking for.

   A selection list with matching search terms from the index appears below the search field.

3. Click a matching search term.

   The list of hits appears.

4. To narrow down the results to specific lanes, click Process Participants and an entry.

   The list of hits is narrowed down to the selected lane.

5. To extend the search results to all revisions, activate All Revisions.

   The list of hits is extended to all revisions.

6. To view the process diagram of a search result, click the thumbnail of the process.

   The process diagram appears. You can ⋮ export it as an SVG and print it. You can also specify the display of symbols.

   You can change the Display Size step by step within certain limits or fit the Diagram Size to the window.

   You can select elements and view any existing Descriptions or view Attachments.

   You can close the process diagram and return to the search results.

7. To navigate to a search result, click the name of the process.

   The process page appears.

   The search term is not displayed or highlighted.

   You can use all the functions of your role on the process page.

   You can return to the search results using your browser’s back function.
