Linking an Area Element to a Hierarchy Element

The area elements of the process maps are linked to the next sublevel to enable navigation through the process hierarchy.

Prerequisites

You are a BPM Manager.

You are on the Process Hierarchy page (main menu Processes > Process Hierarchy).

Linkable elements must exist in the sublevel of the process map.

Context

The purpose of setting up the process hierarchy is to group the processes for targeted navigation.

The area elements of the SVG graphic of a process map are linked to the next sublevel to enable navigation through the process hierarchy.

How to proceed

1. In the Process Map tab, navigate to the process map you want to link.

2. Click ⋮ Edit Links.

   The linkable area elements are displayed. Linked and not yet linked area elements are shown in different colors.

3. Select an area element to link it.

   The Link element ‘{{name}}’ dialog appears.

4. Click the element you want to link.

   The element is highlighted in color.

5. Click Link Selected Element.

   The area element of the SVG graphic is linked to the selected element and is highlighted in color.

6. To link further area elements, repeat the steps from step 2.

7. To complete the linking of the process map, click the icon for ending editing next to the process map.

   The process map is displayed in its normal colors again.
