For a selected area element of a process map, you can use a dialog to select the process to be linked to an element from the processes assigned to the respective hierarchy element.

Prerequisites

You are a BPM Manager.

Context

The purpose of setting up the process hierarchy is to group the processes for targeted navigation.

The area elements of the process map of a hierarchy element at the lowest level are linked to the corresponding processes.

Using the hierarchy elements of the individual levels of the process hierarchy, you finally reach a hierarchy element at the lowest level and from there the assigned or linked processes.

How to proceed

1. Next to the process map that you want to link, click ⋮ Edit links.

   The area elements that can be linked are displayed. Linked and not yet linked area elements are shown in different colors.

2. Select an element to link it.

   The dialog for linking area elements appears.

3. To also be able to link processes that are not assigned to the hierarchy element, clear the current level only checkbox.

   All hierarchy elements and processes assigned to the hierarchy element as well as processes not yet assigned are listed.

4. Click the process that you want to link.

   The element is highlighted in color.

5. Click Create link.

   The area element of the SVG graphic is linked to the selected process and is highlighted in color.

   When you position the mouse pointer over the area element, a thumbnail of the process appears.

6. To link further area elements, repeat the steps from 2 onwards.

7. To complete the linking of the process map, click the icon for ending editing next to the process map.

   The process map appears in its normal colors again.
