Navigating through the process with the Guide
The Guide lets you navigate step by step through the process diagram and shows you the description of the process elements and the explanation of the process symbols.

Prerequisites
The step-by-step guidance through a process diagram using the Guide takes into account the process steps directly contained in it. Steps in embedded subprocesses are ignored.
Context
The Guide allows you to switch step by step to the next or previous process step. After a gateway or task, several next steps may be available for selection. You can also switch to the start event or an end event.
The following information is displayed for each step you reach.
Name
The name is defined by the authors of the process diagram. Not all elements have names.
Type
The type is defined in the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard.
You can call up an explanation of the type via the info symbol.
An expandable area containing, among other things, the following details:
Description
The description of a process step was created by the authors of the process diagram.
The description cannot be edited in Bpanda. You can express change requests under Q&A or in a review.
Process Participants
Only the responsibility areas (lanes) modelled in the process are listed here as Process Participants.
The Process Owner can assign users and groups to the responsibility areas. You can only see this assignment in the Overview tab.
Attachments
Process Owners and Process Contributors can assign attachments to the process and to individual process contents. These can be opened by all users.
Previous step / Next step
A gateway or task can be followed by several alternative or parallel steps. In this case, you are offered a selection of links.
In the section window, you can change the display size step by step to a certain extent or fit the diagram size to the section window. The size of the section window itself cannot be changed.
Navigation through the process uses symbols that you know from your remote control. They also work in a similar way:
- To the process
- To the previous step
- To the next step, selection may be required
- To the last step (end event), selection may be required
How to proceed

If you are in another tab on the process page, click the Guide tab.
The Guide highlights the first step in the process flow; this is usually a start event. The name, type, description, Process Participants and the next step are displayed for the process step.

To change the display size, click the zoom buttons.
The diagram is reduced or enlarged by one zoom level in the section window.

To fit the diagram size to the section window, click the fit button.
The diagram is fitted to the section window.

To switch to the first, previous, a next or a last element, click the corresponding button below the section window.
If several next steps or end events exist, select one of them.
The element is displayed and highlighted in the section window.
