The **Designer** supports the **BPM Manager** in creating and updating the Process Space by importing or uploading the process diagrams. The Designer is also the specialist for the integrated **Modeler** and is responsible for designing processes.

**Designers** have access to all versions of all processes.

## What are my tasks as a Designer? [#welche-aufgaben-habe-ich-als-prozessdesigner]

The **BPM Manager** assigns you as a **Designer** to a Process Space (and not to an individual process).

A **Designer** can

- import processes initially and as an updated process version (revision)
- design processes (as a process sketch (name, description, attachments if applicable), happy path (task list with assignment to responsibility areas and automatic diagram creation) or process diagram (in the integrated Modeler))
- edit process versions that were created with the Modeler as a draft in the Modeler
- submit process drafts as a process revision
- see all versions of all processes

## How are processes imported and updated? [#wie-werden-die-prozesse-importiert-und-aktualisiert]

In principle, process versions can initially be made available in the Process Space in the following ways:

- importing BPMN diagrams from any modeling tool as a BPMN file
- uploading BPMN diagrams from a modeling tool via plug-in
- creating a draft in Bpanda as a process sketch (name, description, attachments if applicable), happy path (task list with assignment to responsibility areas and automatic diagram creation) or process diagram (in the integrated Modeler) and submitting it as a process version

Drafts can only be created by **Designers** and **BPM Managers**.

Processes from modeling tools are imported or uploaded in an amended version for updating. The plug-ins ensure that they are automatically assigned to the predecessor.

If the process version was created with the **Modeler**, the **Designer** can also edit it in the **Modeler** for updating and submit it as a process revision.
