Typing organizational units or roles serves to group them consistently.

## Prerequisites [#voraussetzungen]

You are a **BPM Manager**.

You are on the **Define Types** page.

## Context [#zusammenhang]

Typing organizational units or roles serves to group these organizational components consistently.

If types are defined, organizational units and organizational roles must be assigned to a type when they are created. If the type structure is not yet complete, we recommend a "no type" type.

Regardless of the content language set in your profile, naming is always done in the modeling language defined on the **Manage Process Space** page in the **Modeler Settings** tab.

## How to proceed [#so-gehst-du-vor]

1. Next to **Organizational Unit Types** or **Role Types**, click the plus symbol.

The dialog for creating the type appears.
2. Enter the name of the type.
3. To translate the name, click the toggle symbol in the dialog.

The display switches to two-column mode.
4. Select the language from the selection list, enter the translation for the name and repeat the procedure to translate into further languages.
5. To confirm the changes, click **OK**.

The changes are saved and the dialog is closed.
