To visualise the **process hierarchy**, you assign a **process map** to each level.

## Prerequisites [#voraussetzungen]

The procedures for building up the process hierarchy require the **BPM Manager** role.

To be able to upload a **process map**, an SVG graphics file with named area elements and a maximum file size of 2 MB must be available.

## Context [#zusammenhang]

Normally, the **process map** on the top level displays the process groups of the management, core and support processes.

If no **process map** has been assigned to a level yet, there are two alternatives:

1. **Upload process map**

   Add a file in SVG format with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
2. **Open process map editor**

   Use the process map editor to create a new process map.

You can replace a process map that has already been assigned.

You create a new sublevel on the **Manage Process Space** page.

## How to proceed [#so-gehst-du-vor]

1. In the **main menu**, select **Processes** > **Process Hierarchy**.

   The **process map** appears.
2. In the process hierarchy, navigate to the hierarchy element to which you want to assign a process map.
3. To use an SVG file as a process map, click **Upload Process Map**.

   The standard dialog for opening an SVG file to be assigned appears.

   Select the SVG file and open it.

   It is available for linking to the next sublevel.
4. To create the process map in Bpanda and then assign it, click **Open Process Map Editor**.

   The **Process Map Editor** appears.

   Create the process map and assign it by submitting it.

   It is available for linking to the next sublevel.
