Templates for risks and opportunities simplify and standardize how they are recorded.

## What is the Templates tab for? [#wozu-dient-das-register-vorlagen]

- Templates for risks and opportunities simplify and standardize how process risks and opportunities are recorded.
- Templates can be saved by the Process Owners or created here by the Risk Manager. They are available to the Process Owners when they create a risk analysis.

## Structure of the Templates tab [#aufbau-des-registers-vorlagen]

The tab shows all templates for **Risks** and **Opportunities** saved by Process Owners or Risk Managers.

Similar risks or opportunities are usually relevant for similar process steps in particular, and similar controls are then suitable for them as well.

A control icon identifies risk templates that contain at least one control.

## Creating a new template [#anlegen-einer-neuen-vorlage]

### Prerequisites [#voraussetzungen]

You are a **Risk Manager** or **BPM Manager**.

Note: **Process Owners** can save templates on the process page.

### How to proceed [#so-gehst-du-vor]

1. Click **Create new template**.

The dialog of the same name appears.

The **Risk** tab is in the foreground.

4. Under **Possible effects**, describe the specific effects.
5. For a risk, select the **Risk category** from the selection list.
6. Click **Identifier** and select the person or organizational unit that discovered the risk or opportunity.
7. Click **Responsible** and select the person who is responsible for the risk or opportunity.
8. Assess the **Probability of occurrence** and the **Extent of impact** (damage or success) using the selection lists or, alternatively, using **Advanced editing** in the assessment matrix.
